We have designed and built 10 robotic phoenixes, in addition to using another RCX to control lights.

  • The ‘Fledgling’ robot has been built using VEX Robotics & we programmed it in ‘C’. This was a new programming language to us, we have never used it before.
  • The ‘Nestlings’ & ‘Hatchlings’ are constructed from Lego. We used Lego Mindstorms: RIS 2.0 to program them, downloading the programs to the RCXs.
  • The ‘Eggling’ robot has been built & programmed using ‘PICAXE’. This was a new programming language to us, we have never used it before.
  • The 2 ‘Flylings’ are constructed from Lego. We used Lego Mindstorms: RIS 2.0 to program it.

  • We were required to choreograph our robots to dance to a piece of music.
We have also choreographed our own dance routine, and we dance alongside our robots for the performance.
